SearchWP is Acquired by Awesome Motive

Awesome Motive, which owns some of the most popular WordPress plugins such as OptinMonster and WPForms, recently acquired SearchWP, a plugin designed to enhance the search functionality of WordPress. SearchWP was launched by Jon Christopher in 2013.

Awesome Motive CEO Syed Balkhi has not announced any changes to the plugin and says current customers can expect business as usual.

Awesome Motive’s Balkhi didn’t go into any specifics on its plans for the search plugin but said it will be implementing plans in the next year to make it easier for non-technical users to set it up in just a few minutes.

Except for Jon, the rest of the SearchWP team is joining Awesome Motive.

I sat down with the team, and we have a crystal-clear 12 month plan. A lot of exciting things are coming your way in the coming months. I want to thank Jon for all the hard work he put into SearchWP over the last 8 years, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
