Prabhakar Raghavan has been appointed as the new head of Google Search and Assistant.
Raghavan will replace Ben Gomes, who will be shifting to a new role within the company, and will report to Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai.
Raghavan has worked at Google since 2012 and was first named as the head of Google’s advertisement and commerce business in 2018. This included managing search, display, and video advertisement analytics, as well as shopping and payments.
Ragavan’s leadership bench will be strengthened as a result of these recent changes, and his group will be able to move more efficiently. They also solidify his role as one of the company’s most successful executives and give him control of the company’s most profitable businesses.
